Question about culture clubs

This is just something I've been wondering about now that I'm in my Junior year. I'm currently active in at least three clubs and I'll hopefully have five by my Senior year. I'm not aiming for the Ivy League but I've been curious about culture clubs for a while.

I was part of a culture club for about two years and then the club lost its sponsor so it disbanded. It was a club about different cultures and promoting diversity. However, my school also has two clubs for Hispanics. Obviously, any one can join but when I apply for scholarships does it look bad if I'm Hispanic and not involved in these clubs?

My school is a minority-majority school so I've never had the need to try to find other people that shared the same culture. In most of my classes at least half the students are Hispanic. Still, I see that most of my Hispanic classmates are involved in these groups and I was wondering if there was any advantage to this?

With the three clubs I'm currently in, I'm only doing it because I like it. Same thing with the two other clubs I hope to join next year. Yet, I keep hearing a lot about the benefits that joining a club that fits your culture from classmates so I'm not sure if its worth joining for help. Any advice?
