Question About Dean's Scholarship

Hi, I applied to USC before Dec. 1 but unfortunately I got the no Presidential / Trustee letter =( and I also found out that though I was a NM Semifinalist, I did not qualify for Finalist. So now I'm wondering, how do they send the Dean's scholarship? Will that come with the "second wave" of admissions in March? Or were they all sent out back in late January with everyone who got Presidential / Trustee? Also, for previous Dean's recipients, what are your stats? I've got pretty high testing scores and good EC / service hours, but because of nine AP classes taken through junior year, my GPA is suffering a bit...

I think there have been recent threads about when Dean’s scholarships are notified. Try searching for those. I would let you know, but I don’t have any information on this. Also, many of us have come to realize (and further assured by the admissions staff at Explore USC) that scholarships aren’t determined only by stats. Trying to predict chances based on scores can only get you so far. Of course many of the scholarship finalists had high scores, but that wasn’t the determining factor. At Explore, they basically explained that it was pretty holistic.

And I just have to say…NINE AP’s junior year? That’s just wow, lol.

Yep, my girlfriend had better stats than me but didn’t get trustee/presidential. and as far as i know, no dean scholarships have been handed out yet.

some have already gone out cuz i got the dean’s in the first wave of acceptances. i’m not sure though how many went out or if they are gonna give out more…

I got the Dean’s Scholarship. Check out the latest post in the USC Decisions thread if you want to see my stats.

I too got Dean’s Scholarship in the first wave of acceptances, so some have already been handed out. Not sure if all have been handed out, though…
