Question about EA/ED

My parents and I are new to all of this and they have a major concern about early action/decision. I plan on applying early decision to Wake Forest and then non-restrictive early action to a couple of other schools. My parents are scared that colleges will be able to see that I am applying to 6 schools early and not want to accept me since they don't know if I will actually attend. I guess my question is can colleges see where else you are applying and would it be a concern to apply to too many schools early?

Well if you get into a school ED you have to go and withdraw all other apps. So unless you definintly want to go to Wake Forest, don’t apply ED. But EA shouldn’t affect your chances of admission.

Agree that it isn’t a problem. As long as you are following the EA/ED policies of all your schools, it won’t hurt you to apply to several.

Colleges are also well aware that their applicants are applying to a multitude of other schools. Your folks’ paranoia isn’t justified

It shouldn’t sure you chances. You already have your application ready, why not send it to EA schools and get the decision earlier? Admissions officers will understand- you’d be foolish to only apply to one school.
