What is it? Is it just like Early Decision, but at a later date? I was considering applying to Pomona on ED II basis, but will that increase my chances there a substantial bit?

EDII is basically early decision at a later date. I think they offer it for those rejected by early action or early decision I applicants. Early decision at any date for school definately increases your chances of getting accepted. However, then you are bound.

As shilakim said, ED (whether EDI or EDII) does increase your chances. Pomona’s EDII deadline is 12/28 (I think), so you definitely still have time (make sure to get the SSR and forms in to your school’s college office or guidance counselor before winter break).
