Hey CCers,

When commenting about your ECs in high school, should you include somewhat trivial stuff like recreational sports and languages that you've learned and plays that you've written if they have not gotten recognition from some esteemed audience?

Thanks Guys

no one wants to help me? now im sad... :(

You answered your own question by using the word "trivial." If that's what they really are, then by definition, you have no reason to put them in. However, plays you've written is certainly something that might set you apart from your fellow applicants.

Red sports is fine...

I am a rising senior, but from what I have been told, colleges note the activities that you are VERY involved in and have been giving up a tremendous amount of time to. Therefore, they like it more if you have been a part of 3 clubs where you were very involved and became the captain or the president as opposed to being "involved" in 8 different clubs, where you are just participating the minimal amount b/c you have to make it to the next club. So yea...if you put in the "trivial" stuff, the colleges will look at your application and think that you did that just to bolster the application, which they don't like much...

hope this helped, good luck! =)
