Question about ELC and ELC campuses?

I got notified that I am an ELC designated student for fall of 2011. I heard that the campuses that have guaranteed acceptances are Davis, Irvine, SB, Merced, and Riverside. Does this mean I am accepted to these campuses regardless of my test scores (SAT/ACT) and/or personal statements, just as long as I apply to the campus and enter my ELC number? Please I really need to know! Thank you! PS I can't find the place on the UC application to put my ELC number, if someone can help me locate that, it would be VERY much appreciated....

Also, what are my chances of getting accepted to Berkeley, LA, and SD? My scores aren't very good (24 ACT and 1610 SAT), but if i'm ELC do have a higher chance of becoming accepted to these campuses?

okay the ELC number is in the academic history section of the application… hold on i will check it for you…

right so go to academic history nad then to the “other academic history section” and you will see ELC number (right below ur california student ID)

umm as far as the guarenteed apps go… im pretty sure that you will have to get a “required GPA, and a score” for those accepted UC’s. like GPA ahs to be greater then a 3.0 (but u got elc so thats good). as far as the scores go, just study and practice and get a high score,… im not too sure how the scores factor in, so that is a good question to email college app. officers. or search around the forum

as for UCB, UCLA, UCSD, those are the competitive schools, so they look at everything bascially, good academic history, good EC’s, etc. your score is below the averages of all three school… and UCSD’s is hte lowest at 1920 (or something) and hte rest are above 2050ish, so as far as score goes it isnt looking good, … but with ELC included, i dont think that makes a huge diff. beucase the scores are still low… my solution would be to raise it to 2000 + and that would be a good chance at all schools.

ok so i looked around, and i might have lied… other posts say that low grades dont matter when “guarenteed admission” comes… as long as you submit app by 11/30, do a-g reqs. maintain C and above) --YES A D OR F CAN GET YOU REJECTED even from the guarenteed campuses.

To confirm Spatel’s last post…yes, all you have to do is get your application, etc. in by 11/30. You should be receiving letters from individual schools telling you that. My son just got a letter from UC Davis indicating that he will be accepted pending his application to the school by 11/30. It appears that UC Davis is the first UC to put this letter out based on other posts.
