hi everyone. i am a current junior. is it a bad idea to email regional admissions officers at my top pick schools and introduce myself and maybe some of the projects I’m currently working on? thanks

yes it’s a bad idea, it will just annoy them. They will get to know you and your projects when they read your app. There are only so many hours in the day and if hundreds of kids trying to get a leg up in admissions email regional reps they won’t have time to do their regular work.
If you have a question you can’t find an answer to on the website after looking and your HS counselor doesn’t know, then, sure, email to ask. Legitimate questions are one thing, what you are suggesting is something different.

- Admissions officers are focused on the current senior class right now.
- If you have a specific question to ask that cannot be answered from the website etc. then it is OK to ask – but just to say hi and introduce yourself I’d say no.
If the user wants to ask the question using their main account, I will append the responses (although the definitive answers have been given). Closing
