ENC 2210 is pretty easy. It teaches you technical writing genres like emails, letters, resumes, memos, reports, proposals, etc... My daughter is taking it now online. The online class has nine lessons which each require you submit a written assignment. I don't know anything about ENC 3254.

Is she taking it as an online course at UF? I registered for ENC 3254 because I couldn't get into ENC 2210. I will try to change on August 1. I'm also a Computer Engineering Major...

When I was trying to find the difference between the two classes, I found that the syllabus used for 2210 was almost identical to 3254 and that it even had a reference to 2210 when it was explaining it:

They both even reference the same textbook for the class...The syllabus looks like it was simply used as a template and altered for either ENC 2210 or ENC 3254.

Since ENC 2210 is a 2000 level course, I would assume it is easier than ENC 3254 (a 3000 level course?)

They are basically the same course. I think the only difference is that 3254 has to do a presentation, which I dont think is universally enforced since the classes are taught by TAs. So depending on what TA you get, some are super easy (like get out after class 10 mins after it starts) to time consuming with projects.

My daughter is taking it as a distance learning class because she is also working at an summer internship and living at home this summer.
It is completely online.
You can check it out here:

Yes, you can take it online during Fall semester. You need to first print the form from the website and take it over to your advisor and get it approved by your advisor.

Hi I was reading this thread and had a quick question about the course. I recently signed up for the enc 2210 at UF but I plan to start the actual work on June 18 and try to complete the course by July 12. For anyone who has taken the course or known anyone who’s taken the course, is this plausible? I’m leaving to go on a trip afterward and so I just wanted to find out if I can really complete the course in this time frame?
