Question about English Courses needed to transfer to UC and complete IGETC ?

As I understand, I only need to take 2 courses in English to complete IGETC and transfer to UC:
Area 1 - English Communication (on IGETC)
Group A - English Composition: English 1A
Group B - Critical Thinking - English Composition: English 1C (formely 40)

I dont need English 1B (Reading, Writing, and Thinking Critically about Literature) which belong to Area 3B right ?

The letters of group A, B and the courses names make it confusing.
Any help is welcomed.

(Yes I already asked the counselors and they seem so unsure..:( )

Okay, well, at my college it’s different because our IGETC pattern lists English 1A, 1B, and 1C as courses that would fulfill the English (UC) requirement. So, students at my college must take English 1A, then take either 1B or 1C; however, if your college only lists 1A and 1C as eligible for fulfilling this requirement, then I would complete 1A and 1C just to be safe.

Im taking 1A and will take 1C next semester. 1B is not a required preq to take 1C in my college.
That is fine right.

Because I just hear stuffs about you need to take 1B…and just want to check.
Thanks predicthisflick

Any other advice/suggestion/comment is welcomed =]

No you don’t need to take 1B.
Although you could if you wanted to and I think it’ll count under the humanities category if I’m not mistaken, you don’t have to.

You go to CCSF?
