question about FA...

my parents said that they could maybe pay for my tuition for a year or so.. but that's pretty much it cuz the tuition is so expensive and our family is not so rich...

i wanted to apply to colleges without the FA requests, because i know that it will bring me worse results than when i apply without FA.

is it possible to receive finaid after we have already enrolled in a college without requesting finaid in the first place?

if it's possible, i'm thinking of applying without FA request to increase my chances.

if it's impossible, then i'm gonna have to request finaid for every single school i apply to cuz there's no way i can pay for all the tuition for four full years.

thank you! =D

oh i'm an international student by the way...

Theoretically admission is "need blind." You should apply with the box checked for financial aid. Look at the statistics anywhere - the majority of students get financial aid. Just because you check the box that you would like it, doesn't mean you'll get as much as you're wishing for (or even any.) You will be digging yourself into a hole not to take advantage of financial help in year one, because you are unlikely to get a full ride for the remaining three years - particularly if your parents can afford to pay a full year.

admission is very rarely need-blind for international students -- only a few of the very top schools -- so your ability to pay will be factored in.

The question that you need to find out is if the schools you are interested in will award FA in later years if you don't apply to it at first. I think it would be best for you to directly contact the schools.
