Question about FAFSA Form

Hi Fellow Parents. I have a question, I feel a bit ignorant asking but here it goes. All of the acceptances, rejections and waitlisting are in. We didn't fill out FAFSA forms because we didn't ask for financial aid because we knew we wouldn't qualify. I am hearing from some parents that you should anyway. I don't know if it's too late, probably is, but my question is.......After you accept the acceptance from the school your son or daughter is going to, do the schools ever give you $$$, based on merit or other requirements. My son was offered $$ from a few schools when he received his acceptance but I was curious if it's ever after your commitment? Thank you in advance...

You can file the FAFSA for 2013-2014 any time until June 2014. Some folks do this so their kiddos can take the Direct Loans in the student’s name. At this point, it is not likely that you would receive additional institutional need based aid from a school…but then you say you don’t think you would have qualified for that anyway.
