Hi guys, so as I was checking over my FAFSA application and college applications, I realized that I had a different address than the one on my mother's tax return. Will this affect my chances of financial aid and Calgrant? I am not too sure if it's too late to make these changes. Thanks for the help.

A totally different address? Why would that be? Do you live with your mom?

I do, but my mother told me to put the address set to my uncle’s house because she would be moving there after I left for college. Once looking at her tax returns again, I saw it was set at my current home. I’m still not entirely sure if that will be a big problem.

Someone asked this before, and, as I recall, it was not an issue.

The person to ask would be kelsmom - I’m sure she would know.

As far as federal financial aid is concerned, you can use any address you want - as long as it’s yours. I don’t know much about Calgrant, but I would think as long as it’s a California address, it shouldn’t be an issue … and even if it’s not a CA address, I imagine as long as you can prove residency if asked, it would be okay.
