I have applied for the gates scholarship and it required I did the FAFSA by FEB 1st BUT there was no code listed to send any information to (how would I send them the FAFSA?)

I do have a question on the FAFSA form:

IRS-allowable adjustments to income (payment to IRA and Keogh Plans, one half of self employment tax, self-employed health insurance deduction, interest penalty on early withdrawal of savings, alimony paid, and student loan interest deduction).

This amount will be subtracted to equal the student's parents' estimated income for the year 2005.

I was just wondering if it was total income or adjusted gross income

Since my father is self-employed... (business owner) is the CSS profile a must or is it just for some schools?

How do I add more schools (over six)..... I just submitted the FAFSA, someone mentioned you could put in more than six schools if you went back to "correct" the FAFSA form. I'm not sure if because I just submitted it I need to wait for it process to then update it....

You can only select up to six schools to receive your application information. Once you receive your Student Aid Report (SAR) you can make the information available to more than six schools through one of the following options. Each option will allow the school to receive an electronic copy of your SAR and you will also receive an updated SAR:

If you have a paper SAR, you can replace the schools listed on the SAR with other school codes, and mail the SAR back to the U.S. Department of Education.

You can call the Federal Student Aid Information Center and have them make the school changes for you. When you call, you must provide your
Data Release Number (DRN) from your SAR to have the changes made. Refer to the Customer Service page for contact and assistance information.

Give the additional schools your Social Security Number, name, and the Data Release Number (DRN) from your SAR so that the schools can add
their school code to your application and receive an electronic copy of your SAR.

Go to the FAFSA on the Web home page and select Make Corrections to a processed FAFSA under the FAFSA Followup section. Note: Your PIN is required to use this feature. Add additional school codes and submit the correction record for processing.

there is also on line help where you can answer questions. If you aren't getting what you need here, ask there. You can either do a live session or email them. they have always gotten back to me and been very helpful. the fafsa is too complicated.

Please click on my screen name and choose the option to "Visit Calmom's home page". This will take you to the thread where I posted full instructions. It is in post #7.
