<p>Absolutely. You may or may not qualify for FA at a community college (much tougher to do than at a 4 year college), but you certainly won't qualify if you don't try.</p>
<p>You have to file to be eligible for any Stafford loans (should you need them).</p>
<p>If you are planning on transferring next year, the need to file is even greater.</p>
