Do schools actually spend time trying to get your financial aid docs together even before accepting you?... It would sort of seem like a waste of time... but then again... it is pretty difficult to tell how they do all this... I'm assuming they "tentavely" accept some people.. and then work on the FIN AID for them? Have any schools sent out any "personal' reminder with specific information about your file regarding fin aid... for example.. you are missing certain forms?

They selection of you as an admitted student might occur long before they prepare your financial aid package. Most schools aren't lacking in funds but rather will assemble your FA documents to make the distribution of grants to loans to work study then you will get both decisions together. Yes, schools will let you know if your financial aid documents aren't all in to their office.

How are you? Have you heard from any schools yet?

But if this theory is true... that you get "accepted" before your financial aid file is reviewed.. then wouldn't [also] in theory... the colleges be giving themselves away when asking you for certain missing files.

BTW:
I'm doing fine thanks.... I think it will work out... I already got accepted into a UC [my safety which I would love to attend if all else fails] and my rank in school didnt drop much at all.. (I'm very surprised, it pretty much "made my year")

From what I understand, if your app says that you're seeking financial aid, they check to see if your file is complete. Asking you for your financial forms is not a "code" that you've been accepted except for the aid part. It's an administrative task. They don't have time to chase down forms once they've already reviewed the admissions file. This is particularly true for "need sensitive" or "not need-blind" schools. If your request for aid can affect your admission, they need to see the entire file at once.

I'm wondering about this yet again seeing as to how some decisoins have already been sent out..

Is there anyone out there that was reminded for some specific Fin Aid documents to later be rejected by that school?

I know there are many cases where you wont be reminded but still accepted (myself included).
