Question about Financial Aid and Housing Rent

I'm receiving an exact amount of aid ($2,177) for my housing rent ONLY for the fall, since I'll be able to afford my spring housing rent.

The problem is, I had just found out that my aid is going directly to the University, and not privately...which is how many students would be able to pay for their housing rent dues through the "My Charges" section in ISIS.

I did some research on how financial aid can pay for housing..which led me to the Deferment page, which explains that my due date can be extended. However,a tid bit of info caught me by surprise: For fall/spring semesters, in order to qualify, I need 4500+ in aid. What if I'm only using it for the fall semester? Has anyone else been in this situation and what should I do?

Thanks

Call financial aid and the housing office and see what they tell you, you may be able to work something out.

Is that $2,177 all of the financial aid you are receiving?

Worst case scenario, you might have to take out a loan to cover the rest of that $4,500. If you don’t want the money you could probably just pay it back immediately.

Well, the 2177 is a loan I took out…I just wasn’t aware I needed 4500+ to have my housing bill delayed. I might be able to work it out. Thank you!
