question about financial aid process!!!

I am applying EA, and I know the online CSS profile is due november 15. However, do we need to fax/mail in our 2006 tax returns by this date? I think for MIT/UPenn/Yale early programs, you have to turn in the tax returns, but I didn't see anything about Stanford for this. Thanks!!

Sparkle, according to the stanford website u dont have to turn in tax tax returns until March 1st.

yes that's what i thought, so for early action we turn in nothing other than the css profile? i guess it just seems weird to me that they don't require tax returns.

You fill out the CSS Profile. After you send out your CSS Profile, you'll get a confirmation. On that screen, it will tell you what further action you need to take based on the school selected such as forms that you need to send and whatnot.

From what I've gathered Stanford and other EA/ED universities initially use the Css profile to provide some rough estimate of the financial aid package you'll recieve if you chose to attend. Admitted students then give in their tax returns and Fafsa on a later date (march 1st and feb 15 respectively), based on which Stanford provides a revised and final aid package....

PS: alot of the CSS profile is based on your parents 2006 tax returns, so I'm sure they'll have enough information.
