Question about first semster grades

For postponed students, is sending 1st semester grades absolutely mandatory. I had 3.7 + junior year but I got 3.1 first semester with a much harder schedule. Also I had 4 B, 2 A, 2 C but all B's and C's were two or three percent away from becoming higher grades. Should I mention this in a letter and send it to them or something? If I do, will they just frown upon it. Also, I up my ACT from 28 to 30 so would this cancel out my 1st semester grades? Are my chances basically over?

"To ensure continued consideration of your application, you
should submit your mid-year senior grades and any new test
scores as soon as they are available. Ask your school to send
your mid-year transcript or grade report to us in the enclosed
blue envelope. If you have new ACT or SAT scores, ask the
testing agency to send an official report to us directly."

dont include any letters of ur own, maby ask one of your new teachers to write a recommendation saying how you tried really hard even though you did get a C.

And also...When the hell did you manage to get so many B's and C's??????????
wernt u getting like 5 A's and 3 B's??????

I messed up on the finals so much
