I know there are a lot of apartment options on campus and I was wondering if freshmen are allowed to live in any of them, or if it's all for upperclassmen. Thanks :D

I am pretty sure that starting next year Freshmen will not be able to live in the apartment living options, Sorry!

It’s okay. After a bit more searching, I found out Emerson Hall is open to freshmen and if I enroll, I think I’ll be selecting that one.

Emerson Hall is really nice, and open to underclassmen. The apartments are only for upperclassmen, and even juniors will have a difficult time getting in to some of them. They’re definitely reserved for juniors and seniors :). Emerson is great, but all freshman are going to begin having to live in a specific area of campus. I don’t know much about it, but it’s a part of IC20/20. while Emerson does flaunt the fact that you have a private bathroom, I actually didn’t mind sharing a bathroom for two years in the dorms. They’re cleaned twice a day and I never had issues getting into a stall. Movies make it seem like girls are always in the bathroom is towels, but in two years, I only had to wait for a shower maybe 4 times?

Thanks for the info! Yeah, the private bathroom is kind of a plus. I stayed overnight at a school for the summer doing a workshop and the shared bathrooms were awful. It was like a hundred degrees outside and the bathrooms weren’t any better. There were 3 shower stalls and we were all waiting in line forever. Said school was going to be one of my safeties, but after that awful experience (and several other factors) I said no way.

Haha understandable. I was worried about the whole bathroom situation when I moved in, and it ended up working out really well Both years in the dorm, the bathrooms on each floor only had two showers, but that bathroom was usually only shared among 15 girls. When you start up classes, everybody has such different schedules that it’s rare to find bathroom issues. Some kids will be the night owls who shower at 2am, others at 7am and even more throughout the day. It’s pretty easy Janitors at Ithaca come on a regular schedule and do intense washdowns
