i was just wondering how most schools calculate gpa’s …whether or not different schools have different methods or if they’re all the same. And also if you’d kindly post how your schools weight honors and AP courses that would be great. …o and i was also curious as to what a 92% average would be in your schools on the 4.0 scale.

Dank, most schools (both high school and college) seem to have their own method of calculating GPAs. I've talked to several colleges and some utilize the freshman year, some don't. Some utilize the non-scholastic type courses, some do not. It seems though, no matter how colleges calculate your GPA, they will be seeing your entire transcript... what they view as pertinent information differs from college to college.

As for high schools, my son's school has the following weights on a 4.5 scale:
APs: 1.4, Honors: 1.3, College Prep: 1.1, Regular or Standard Level: 1.0

As for grades they are as follows:
96-100 is an A+ (4.5)
92-95 is an A (4.0)
88-91 is a B+ (3.5)
84-87 is a B (3.0)
80-83 is a C+ (2.5)
77-79 is a C (2.0)
74-76 is a D+ (1.5)
70-73 is a D (1.0)
0-69 is an E (0.)

My school weights a little tougher than most. We offer both Honors and AP.
Honors are not weighted anything.
AP's are weighted +.5, so in my school usually the highest GPA will be between 4.2 and 4.3

94-100 = A = 4.0
90-93 = B+ = 3.5
84-89 = B = 3.0
80-83 = C+ = 2.5
74-79 = C = 2.0
70-73 = D+ = 1.5
64-69 = D = 1.0
0 - 63 = F = 0.0
