Question about General Electives.

I've been researching Northeastern & the classes I will take as a student there. I will be required to take some general electives. Is this pretty much any class available? For example, I got a 4 on my AP Physics B exam. While this won't get me credit for the physics class I have to take as an engineering major, it counts as a different physics class. Can that get me out of a general elective? I also got a 4 on World History which fulfills my social science requirement, and a 4 on English Language, which fulfills part of my writing requirement. I'm taking AP US Government, Spanish Language, & Calculus AB this year. I know that AP US Gov also satisfies the social science requirement. But If I have already filled this requirement, can I use it as general elective credit? I appreciate the help!

General electives are classes you take basically for the credit. It’s what left to get to the university requirement for the number of credits after fulfilling all of your core and major requirements.
So yes, basically, these can be anything, and AP/IB credit will fulfill this. If a requirement has been filled, the extra goes as general elective credit. It’s sort of the “everything else” category. A lot of people also use this elective credit space to take courses toward a minor, or for requirements for grad school or medical school.

thank you!!!
