I am taking a class pass/fail and I was wondering how this would be viewed by law school. I heard that law schools can get the actual grade from your college and re-calculate it back into your GPA. I was just wondering if this were true.

I had one pass/fail class. Didn't hurt me, and was not calculated as a grade.

Most of the info I've come across has said that one P/F class is just fine...ten is a big problem. Don't worry about it.

How many credit hours was your pass/fail class? I plan on taking three one-hour pass/fail seminar courses, (which count altogether as one three-hour class in the Honors Program at my school). Is this not a good idea? Does it seem like I was trying to avoid being graded? Is that too many pass/fail grades? I've taken one of the three seminar classes so far, and I don't think there are any offered that are actually graded.

It was one full course (credit hours are weird at my school...I think it was the equivalent of 4). If your courses aren't offered any other way, then you're fine...don't worry about it.

Someone else might suggest a note of explanation, but I don't even know if that would matter.

Enjoy the classes :)

It is just a three credit class which has nothing to do with my major at all. I was just interested in the subject and it turned out to be harder than I thought.
