Question about getting deferred

So yeah I'm already through with the college app process, but i was just thinking. What happens if someone does ED, but then gets deferred , can they add on to their app in any way, or more specifically, can they submit new SAT's for reconsideration. I figure as much, but I'm just curious.

Yes, you can add extra information, infact you should add extra information. Unless there is a substantial increase in your SAT scores , I think the focus of your extra stuff should a continued upward trend in the classroom (as this will end up holding more weight and increased scores will not help if your grades are slumping), perhaps an extra recommendation that does show more depth into who you actually are, any national awards, etc.

ABSOLUTELY!

My D was deferred from ED to regular decsion, she sent additional materials, updates (no additional SAT scores), and a heart-felt letter (not even a very long one), and was accepted during the regular decision period.

Of course she played it "safe" and also IMMEDIATELY hit the 'send' button on 3 match/safties that were all common application, and were completely filled out, ready to go. She didn't want to come up empty handed. So cover yourself.
