Question about Getting Study Permit (US Student)

<p>Hey,
So i handed in my CAQ so that wasnt too problematic but I'm doing the study permit now and I'm a US student. Do I have to get a police certificate (from the state and the FBI) or is that only for people getting permanent residence in Canada?</p>
