Question about GPA and the job world

Hi, I'm a third year Chemical Engineering major at the University of California, San Diego. I'm feeling nervous about inevitable graduation and about my GPA. I currently have a 3.44, but I feel like after this tough quarter and more tough classes ahead I'm predicting I will probably finish my undergrad with something between 3.0 and 3.2. I don't really want to work for a big company like Chevron, I'm actually quite okay with moving a smaller town (than San Diego) and working at a smaller company. So I would like to know if I can take comfort in that smaller companies having lower standards than bigger ones, meaning that they don't demand Stanford graduates with 3.5 and up, or are standards pretty much the same for all engineering companies? Is it equally difficult to get a job no matter where you apply?

I also have quite a bit of research experience and extracurriculars on my plate...

thanks

3.0 is enough for most jobs. 3.5 makes you stand out a little bit more, but that’s eclipsed by your performance in an interview.
It shouldn’t be exceedingly difficult to find a job.

Yeah, 3.0 is the magic number, but aim higher so you don’t miss it.

seeing as nasa also asks for at least a 3.0, I think that if you have at least a 3.0 and are great at interviewing and build up some good relevant experience, you’ll be good to go :)
