When UC's state that you need for example a 3.2 for business or a 3.3 for engineering, are they talking about your overall GPA or your UC GPA?

Also when UC's release admission statistics, are those GPA numbers UC or overall GPA's? My guess is UC GPA but I just wanted to be sure. Thanks.

I’m not sure about the first question but for your second question, the stats are always admissions GPA which is the gpa of all UC transferrable courses, whether taken at a CC or UC.

Your UC transferable GPA is the only one that matters for admission purposes at a UC. You’re also correct about your assumption that the admission statistics are based on UC transferable GPA. UC’s don’t see your CC GPA at all. They calculate your UC transferable GPA themselves based on the courses and grades you report on the UC application. The only time they may see your CC GPA is when you’ve sent in your transcripts which are due 2-3 months after they’ve made their decision to admit you.
