do colleges loook more at your cumulative gpa or ur gpa for each year.. becasue i had a 3.45(w) and 3.55 frosh and soph year but i had a 4.1 my jr. year. Im applying ED to colgate and i am worried about how they will look at my gpa

What is your cumulative GPA unweighted. That is what Colgate will look at. However, since you do have an upward trend, they will take note of that.

Another question about upward trends:

My son's GPA is going to rise considerably with his first semester senior grades in December. He's trying to decide if he should wait to send RD applications and transcripts until the last possible minute so that his newest and best grades can be included.

Or should he just send them in as he finishes them, with his present GPA, in hopes that final decisions won't be made until midyear grade reports are in.

His circumstances are a bit unusual. He transferred to his public school as a junior from a school with no grades. His first semester grades as a junior were not great, second semester much better, this year will be excellent. He's applying to small LAC's, where it seems every decimal point counts!

Thanks for any advice you have on this.
