May sound simple, but honestly I have no idea.

When colleges ask for your GPA, what year are they looking at? Senior? Junior? An average of all years?

Would it hurt me if I had an average GPA in my first two years of high school (say, 3.5), but then get a higher one in my last two years? (say, 3.8/3.9ish)? Are they looking for improvement or consistency... or both?

Thanks very much!

Cumulative since freshman year. Improvement is good.

Yes, cumulative. But they look for consistency in your grades (if they were good to begin with) or an upward trend in grades (if they started out “poorly”). But some school’s show the GPA on the trascript differently. Like my school shows the cululative AND a breakdown by grade/school year. I imagien there are probably schools that just show one or the other, so the colleges have to consider it in context.

Oh I see. Okay, thanks very much! I’m just hoping that I can make up for my average gpa from the last couple of years.
