I often times see people post questions on various forums addressing whether a certain amount of B's or C's will affect there chances for a given school. At my school grades are recorded on our transcript for quater 1,2,3,4, our semester average, our final exam, and our overall (final) grade. When people are referring to x amount of B's being allowed, would this pertain to all recorded grades or just the final grade? I know for instance that while all my final grades are A's I have various b's scattered througout the other catergories, will these hurt me as much as getting it for a final grade? Thanks!

i say it's all relative to everyone else...so if you have a lot of B's and Cs but are still ranked high in your class...

When colleges recalculate your gpa unweighted, would they only count the final grade?

i'm sure they would...that's how gpa at cornell is calculated...

Does Cornell count A+s, As, and A-s as the same thing? (And B+s and Bs, etc.)

each college's website should tell you the academic policies...i'm sure everyone's the same...but in ILR we do count +/-'s

it's only the final grade that counts...colleges don't see your marking period grades and things like that

well unfortunately cornell will see my various quater grades, my highschool is wierd and reports them, and I've verified this with my counselor

I doubt that a college would care about anything more than your midterm and final grades, since that's all they normally see. But I (like everyone else here)can't know for sure.

wow that is really weird...
