Is it "better" in the eyes of adcoms to take AP US History and get a B or to take regular college prep us history and get an A? I am asking this because i have a hardcore APUSH teacher and think i might get a B in the class while i can get an A in the college prep. If getting an A in the regular class is better then i am willing to drop out of APUSH :( Also, note that i'm taking 3 AP classes.. which will make it 2 if i drop out. Is that enough? I'm not looking forward too much to any Ivy leagues but mostly the top UC's.

As it has been said many times before:
Take AP AND get an A.

work doubly hard and go without sleep if you have to ;)

It depends actually. For Berkeley and LA, it's better to take regular us history and get an A. I forget the actual reason, but they rank grades in such a way.

However, if you only take <4 AP classes during 10th and 11th grade, then by all means, go for the harder classes.

Whatever you choose, you will look back in a couple of years and laugh at why this even bothered you.

Agreed. It's so minor a debacle your brain cells aren't even worth the calories to even go through this.

Just forget about it and get an A. Opportunities pop up along the way.

there's always nodoz....

Ah so LA and Berkeley would rather see me having an A in regular us history than a B in APUSH? why would i later consider this a pathetic question to think about lol? it might even determine a little bit of my chances into getting into those schools right? haha it's because an older friend of mine who got into U Chicago who is also extremely smarter than me especially in history got B's in her class! bahh i dont know.. history is so boring omfg
