<p>i am a senior this year and was wondering if having only 5 classes out of 6 for senior would affect my chances at getting into college.</p>
<p>As long as you are taking difficult courses and doing well in them then you are fine.</p>
<p>Misconception: You do not need hard classes to get into college... that is AP. Keep busy, take whats enough, and do well in them.</p>
<p>Yes, I took the "variance" option as well, and so will have a free class every other day. My friends and I expressed concern that this would not seem appealing to adcoms, but our guidance counselor explained that given the demands of our other courses, it would be fine. Since the free class is only an option for students with numerous AP's, I think that taking the option shows how you desire to do well to those subjects that interest you most.</p>
