Does anyone know when the send the proficiency tests to our counselor’s office?

Hey man. I'm also applying to Huntsman early. What language are you applying for? Do you know what the proficiency test is like?

I'm applying for Chinese (though, Im not chinese or anything, only been taking it in high school, worried about the SATII)

I heard it was a tape mediated test, with some writing and oral responses

Thats about all I know

Cool. I'm going for Spanish along with about 300 other people I'm sure. I too have no Spanish blood, just learned through study. I did spend last year living in Spain with a Spanish family (full immersion, etc.) so hopefully that will help me.

I already took the SAT2 so that's off my chest, but I'm a bit anxious about the tape mediated part. I tend to get nervous in that type of environment and when I get nervous I start stuttering/stumbling etc.. Phew. I hope it goes well. Good luck buddy

I am EDing Huntsman/Wharton. I doubt my chances of getting into Huntsman, but heck, mighty satisfied if I get into Wharton. :) Love the school.

Same here. What language are you applying for?

Chinese. Native speaker. Fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin. Self-Studying Chinese Classic/Modern Lit. for an IB Dual Language Diploma. So, yeah, the foreign language, no problem whatsoever. Read, write, speak. Just pray they like me.

Cool, man. Good luck. Hopefully l I'll see you in the fall...

Yah, I'm not a fluent speaker, just started learning in high school. (I'm caucasion too, btw). However, I've only spent 3 weeks in China.

I have those Math requirements down.
It's the chinese I am more worried about, hopefully they will consider that I am a caucasian non native speaker.

what are the math requirements?

1 year of calculus and take the IIc

got it. I have that (phew). Cool. Good luck, hope to see all the CC'er in the coming fall. Whether through Huntsmans or Wharton. Cheers!

zirkon-- In response to your original post, the proficiency tests are sent out about two weeks before the decision, so about the beginning of December. I hear from the students in the Program that it's essentially a "likely letter". If you get a proficiency test then you're as good as in.

Good luck to everyone (including myself)
One question how many Huntsman applicants do they accept out of the 40 in ED?

Well, they "encourage" a lot of the Hunstman applicants to apply ED, I would think they get about a third...maybe. Not sure. There are sure plenty of qualified applicants though...so, any more or less than a third, I wouldn't be surprised.

I see, thanks

I heard it was 25/40

Also, does anyone know how many people who get rejected from huntsman get into the second choice? (Because I am pretty sure my language isn't going to cut it, unlike most of you this is only my 4th years studying Chinese and I've only spent 3 weeks in China)

But my math is good...and I am hoping wharton will like that

Anyway, where are all you guys from? I'm from PA

south jersey

I just got back from my interview. To all the Huntsman ppl that's been interviewed... does it say on your interview sheet that you are applying for "International Studies?"
