Question About IGETC, Area 8?

<p>Hey CC, </p>

<p>So I'm finishing up my college apps today for CSU and UC</p>

<p>and I'm a bit confused on area 8 of IGETC:</p>

<p>AREA 8 - INTERIM CRITICAL THINKING - ENGLISH COMPOSITION COURSES
At least one of the courses in the two-course option must have
been completed by the end of the Summer 1993 term. The second
course may be completed anytime prior to transfer.
(IGETC Standards 1.1: Section 10.1.2a)</p>

<p>8A - Critical Thinking<br>
8B - English Composition </p>

<p>So do I have to take two of these courses prior to transfer still? I've completed the similar courses in 1A and 1B but didn't understand this.</p>

<p>You MUST have two UC transferrable English courses completed prior (end of Spring) to transfer. I completed English 101 (English composition) and English 103 (critical thinking) to fulfill mine.</p>

<p>So If I took English 1A (composition) </p>

<p>And Philosophy 25 (its a crtical thinking 1B requirement)</p>

<p>Then I’m okay correct? Area 8 looked like a separate group of courses altogether.</p>
