So I'm thinking of applying next year for CSU schools.

If I complete the IGETC, will that be enough?

Because on some csu website, it says the american history and institutions and physical education classes are required for graduation. These classes aren't required for IGETC, but they are required for CSUGE, so i'm just wondering do I have to complete both requirements, or is IGETC alone enough to make me eligible?

So, yes, IGETC will fulfill the lower-div GenEds for CSU. However, if you are set on going to a CSU over a UC, it should be advised to go over both CSUGE (also known as breadth requirements) and IGETC to determine which route will get complete GEs in the fastest amount of time. In some cases CSUGE will require less classes overall since CSU is more lenient than UC on the use of CLEP and other forms of college credit counting towards the requirements.

Most requirements between the two routes are the same, but some minor exceptions may make it easier for one over the other.

EDIT: Just so it’s known, CSU accepts CSUGE and IGETC, however, UC only accepts IGETC.
