I'm sorry if this is an insanely stupid question, but I just had to ask...

If my IGETC is fulfilled and I get into LA or SB as some type of English major, then does that mean I only have to take upper divison English classes? Or are there other GE-related classes I have to take..?

I'm not sure if I'm explaining myself well but hopefully it makes some sort of sense. I've looked at the UC website's IGETC explanation but I'm still confused.

Thanks!

it really depends on the UC but some might have a unit requirement that you have to reach to graduate that your major units wont help you get to. just research it on your preferred UC site!

To add to redoplease’s answer… You’ll have 60 or more units when you transfer to the UC, but you need 120 to graduate. If the English major requires only, say, 40 upper division semester units, then you’ll need 20 additional, non-required units–electives, really. In a lot of cases, it’s smart to do 70 units at a CCC. That’s the most a UC will accept for unit credit, and those 10 units will be way cheaper at a CCC than at a UC.

Thanks guys! And thank god I don’t have to take any more science or math! I have 69.67 units so I guess I’m in okay shape.
