So I'm doing the University of California apps and I'm trying to pick a major. My plan is to go to med-school. So I'm trying to decided whether to pick bioengineering or general biology or something in that area.
My question is if I pick bioengineering, which is impacted in Berkeley and San Diego, would it be harder for me to get in than if I picked general biology? I've heard they don't consider your major when they admit you but after you're admitted to the school that they decide whether or not you get that major. Is that true? My main priority is to get in and major comes next.

well I know that at San Diego all Biology majors are impacted. I don't know about engineering, but it's always competitive as well. I think it's true that they look at your stats first and then consider your major.
