I was out of the country for about 3 weeks and basically missed my chance for an interview. My interviewer emailed me twice about scheduling an interview but I didnt have access to email when I was out of the country.

Will it be a negative that I did not get an interview?

I have the same sorta question: how important are the interviews in the overall admissions process? how many people that don't have one are accepted?

Write back to the interviewer, explain that you were out of the country and apologize for not responding sooner. That's "basic good manners" and can never hurt!

Is it too late to ask if you can still interview, or has the deadline passed?
