im applying to johns hopkins and im interesting in studying science...most likely biology but i am unsure
now i know the hardest thing to get into in johns hopkins is medicane but i know that i do NOT want to be a doctor
so will applying to be a biology major be just as hard as medicane or is it fine...basically im asking if i should let them know im interested in biology or would that hurt my chances somehow and should i go undecided?
thanks so much if you can help

No, it's fine. I applied to JHU as a biology major last year, but I was definitely not pre-med. Except for BME, JHU (like most schools) does not really take your major into much consideration. Keep in mind, however, that their biology program is oriented towards biomedical science. Like WUStL (75% of their bio majors), most JHU bio majors will probably be pre-med and competitive.

At Hopkins, the major you choose will not effect your admissions standings. No major is favored over another in the admissions process.

Except BME! :)

dunno about your prospects of getting into jhu with your spelling of the word medicine.
