Question about language and schedule.

Will not taking a language my senior year hurt my chances? If I were to take a language class it would probably be Spanish V hns, but I can just see it becoming a huge burden throughout the year. But possible advantages to taking this class are I would be completing a 4th year of a language(NYU requires 3) and it will make my schedule seem more impressive. Which brings me to my next question.

AP Music Theory
Calculus
Contemporary Literature Hns
AP Statistics
Gym/Health
AP Art History
Early Dismissal.

Will the rigor of my proposed schedule, or lack thereof, hurt my chances at NYU? Or is it competetive enough that I don't have to worry about it? With this schedule, I'm mostly taking classes that interest me or fulfill academic requirements. Spanish would just be a class I'd take for the sake of making my schedule look more impressive. I have no immediate interest in pursuing another year of spanish. Without Spanish I can work more hours at my job and also be able to enjoy my senior year to the fullest extent.

So what do you guys suggest? Language or no Language?

You'll have the best chance for admission if you have four years of core subjects, which would include foreign language. Taking the most rigorous curriculum offered at you h/s is what they're looking for, not that you can work more hours at your job and enjoy your senior year to the fullest. 35,000 kids apply to NYU and you can bet that most of them are going to have more than the minimum requirements.
