devr: Good point on the MS Office.

devr,

I'm using it right now, but thanks for reinforcing my point. :)

Believe me, I'm well aware of the software options on my computer... as well as the limitations. And even if Office were discontinued, there's always OpenOffice.org, which I think is pretty much just as robust as Office. Oh, and it's free, too.

microsoft loves mac, helps them with antitrust a lot

I have a question =) I think someone said they couldn't find wireless at Rieber Vista during Orientation. I'm living there next year and planning to bring both a laptop and a desktop with me. Forgive me if this is a dumb question, but is it possible to hook up both computers to the Internet in the room at the same time or a way to switch between them?

Yes, it is possible, but you need to purchase a router and an additional Ethernet cable.

I have yet to see a Mac that can utilize a graphics card as good as a PC can. A Macbook Pro with an X1600 won't even get close to the same amount of 3dmarks as any PC with an X1600 and everything else the same. OpenGL isn't as good as Direct X. I have also yet to see a Mac that can match the benchmarks running Windows that a PC can. Using SuperPi, my T2500 PC calculates pi to 2 million digits in 1 min 6 seconds. My friends T2600 Macbook Pro takes 1 min 15 seconds in Windows.

Yes...because we all know that 3Dmarks are the ONLY thing that count when it comes to using a computer.

Oh wait...well...if you're gaming then ya. But otherwise...ROLLEYES FTW.

, you mean.

Nah, I meant to say it. It was my attempt at making it VERY apparent what my emotion was at the moment.

ROLLEYES, indeed. :D
