My close uncle is a Stanford alumnus and I'm thinking about attending Stanford... it's just an early thought. How much do legacies help? Thanks.

Well, ok. I guess that was a bit of a vague question. Sorry geniuses. Anyway, let's say I got like a 2200 SAT score, 3.9-4.0 UW all throughout HS, etc etc and was just slightly below the very competitive range of applicants. Would a legacy bump me up a tad?

I don't think it really counts if your uncle attended.

Legacy does bring you up just a tad at Stanford, they take far fewer legacies thasn most top schools. Unfortunately though, an uncle does not make you a legacy.

Oh, I see then. Thanks for the input, guys.
