Question about Lehigh's business program

Why isn't in ranked in the Top 50 according to US News?

Especially when Lehigh is basically known for their business/engineering schools and the overall school is great for academics

I couldn't see their full rankings but you have to be a little skeptical of a methodology that's 100% based on peer assessment. Businessweeks' rankings may or may not be any good but they at least take a stab at being comprehensive whereas US News basically phoned it in.

Here's the full rankings:

The 5th post in the thread gives the 1-25 rankings

The 9th post in the thread gives the 26-100 rankings

Notice Lehigh is ranked 83rd (it's tied with a lot of schools)

Yea, it's a horrible ranking

But the Top 10 is pretty much dead on

Everything after that is mind-boggling

Why are so many state schools ranked so high?

Thanks. Yeah, I don't really have an explanation for you. Lehigh gets killed in the PA component of US News's regular rankings too but because it is one of many metrics they use the school ultimately doesn't get hurt very much by it like in their business rankings. Maybe because the school isn't broadly known nationally mong academics and LU professors don't have a strong presence in whatever passes for scholarship in the various business fields?

Its almost impossible to take seriously as genuine conviction among academics because its simply too much at odds with the marketplace. Like you said they get the very top schools more or less correct but a blind squirrel could do that.
