Does it matter if you get both recs from humanities teachers if you plan on majoring in math? I was wondering because its not like Im applying for an engineering school, and most colleges that Im looking at (Brown, penn, princeton) say they only recommend two recs for the school of arts and sciences. I was thinking about asking my math teacher but my humanities teachers know me the best (obviously because its humanities)...

bummpppppp

umm, so i’m also a senior and therefore don’t know if i’m right, but what i’ve done is this:
-well okay, ONE, my first choice school (vandy) recommends/requires a rec from math/science and english/history.
-all my science (the thing i wanna major in) teachers have quit except the ones i currently have. so i asked him for a rec. altho he doesn’t know me too well, it’s good to have a teacher in the field you are interested in. i think having an idea of your future and showing interest in a certain area is key to some college apps, and having a math teacher rec reinforces this image of self-actualization.

yeah but from recs i thought they would rather learn about who you are personally instead of your academic performance in a subject (which can be obviously seen in grades/tests)
