So I'm looking to start a Link Crew at my school. Link Crew is basically a group of juniors and seniors who mentor incoming freshman throughout the year. I'm just wondering how did yours start or if you started it then how did you do it? Any ideas would be helpful. There is nothing like it at my school and I feel like it would be helpful to incoming freshman. If you need any additional info just post it. Thanks!

bump bump bump

OK…New Question. This one is for those who have started a club. Any club is fine, I just need some direction. How did you start a club at your school? I feel like doing this is too much to take on alone and I should get someone to help. Any advice?

Hi! I was in link crew my junior year, which was the first year it was at my school.
I couldn’t do it this year because of scheduling conflicts, but I loved it.
Link Crew is stemmed from the Boomerang Project, and you can get guidance for starting a Link Crew at your school. You have to find a teacher(s) willing to attend a training seminar and dedicate large amounts of time to school spirit related activities.

In my opinion, starting Link Crew is more difficult than starting a club, but also more worthwhile. Link Crew really made our freshmen more ready for entering high school and encouraged school spirit. It’s hard work to gather 100 or so qualified juniors and seniors, but it really paid off for my school.

Thank you so much for your reply! So if you can answer this, am I right in saying that the 3 day basic training is for the “advisor” persay? This is the number one confusion for me right now.

Yes. I’m not completely sure since I was only one of the many members, but I don’t believe any students attended the training hosted by the Boomerang Project. The advisor(s) went, and then hosted a training seminar for students.
