Question about major/career

Alright guys I'm a rising senior with pretty decent stats, so I hope to get into what people call a "target" school, I'm planning on EDing Cornell, but the catch is I'm not exactly sure what job I want to do in business (and therefore what major to apply to), but I've narrowed it down to 2 fields in finance.

Quantitative Finance - Analyst/Working in a hedgefund/PE etc. a financial modeler of some sort, with this I would either major in OR in the college of engineering, or a double major in Economics/Math with a minor in Comp Sci.

Investment Banking - Would being an economics/math double major at cornell still leave me in the running for (decent) positions/internships at investment banking if I do well? Do I have to major in AEM at cornell if I want to do IBanking?

Which do you guys think is the better field of the 2(Explained with reference to criteria such as salary, stress, interest for example)?

I am a confident public speaker/problem-solver/math, science, and history are my 3 strongest subjects, but I'm not sure which position I'd be better in/ enjoy more.

Thanks a lot!

Anything which involves math is good for those jobs, especially when it’s from a target school like Cornell. You may also consider majoring in finance, and minoring or double majoring in math, for you cannot go wrong with this combination for either of those positions.

I feel like majoring in AEM would be a last resort for me because I don’t necessarily want to study business in undergrad, but my real question is do I have to at say cornell to be successful or is Math/Econ/Computer Science/Something like that sufficient for either of the 2 fields I put up (of course an MBA/MFE after I get experience depending on my eventual choice).
