So I managed to get into the college of letters and science at Cal but I had applied for molecular and cell biology. I want to change my major to microbial biology which was less impacted and for which I also fulfilled the prerequisites. Will I have the opportunity to change my major before I start school at Cal?

You will have that opportunity. During the summer submit the necessary paperwork. If you are going to CalSO (which I recommend), do it then with the guidance of a counselor. Everyone enters L&S “undeclared”.

wat do u mean wen u say submit the necessary paperwork

When you go to CalSO they will tell you. It is basically a major declaration form and some other forms, depending on what the department needs. You will also need to change colleges from L&S to CNR. Just email CNR or go see them during CalSO… all your questions will be answered

All students enter College of letters and science at CAL, technically “undeclared”. You will not have a problem.
