question about major choice (kinda a chance)

i have a little dilemma here…im basically the typical “math/science oriented asian,” so im basically trying to maximize my chances of gettin into cal. i’ve visited the campus multiple times (lost count actually…=])

i’ve taken 2 years of physics (B soph year, C jr year) and taken up to calc BC my jr year (taking stats now, and planning to take multivariable calc in community college next semester). i was initially planning on going into EECS, but my ap scores r quite…crappy (3 on B, 3’s on both C tests)

so now im wondering whether i should apply for EECS or undeclared/pre-business (im pretty interested in business, many family members in that area). my main questions are basically:

which major would give me a greater chance of acceptance?

what happens if you finish your sophomore year, and you’re not accepted into haas

i’m an in-state student, have a little low UC GPA, decent SAT/ACTs (took both, came out as identical scores when converted)

thanks!

If you have a "little low UC GPA" then you should not apply to EECS. EECS is extremely competitive, you need a very high GPA to get in through EECS. You can always study Computer Science in L&S if you want. If you don't get into Haas you can do economics or some other major.
