My brother has a question about where to go to college, but doesn't have a CC account. His question is:What schools have an economics and offer a minor in agribusiness, but are also in the top 20-25. He can't seem to find any schools like that. Could you suggest some? Thanks you

Most schools in the top 20-25 offer economics as a major. You might be searching too hard for the agribusiness minor - consider simply a business minor and perhaps you will find schools that have branching concentrations into agriculture or other fields.

Every school will offer an economics major. At universities, the economics department typically is found in the College of Arts & Sciences (or, similar title), or in the College of Business. An agribusiness minor would be offered in a department of agricultural economics, which would be in a college of agriculture (or similar title). Almost all colleges of agriculture are found at land grant public universities. Every state has one. Here is a list of them: https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/List_of_land-grant_universities

If you’re interested in the top 25 universities as ranked by USNWR, you won’t find many public universities in the top 25. The only one in that group that offers coursework in agricultural economics is Berkeley (in its college of natural resources), and it doesn’t offer an agribusiness minor since most of its agriculture-related coursework shifted to the UC-Davis campus years ago. After Berkeley the next highest ranked land grant university which might offer ag econ coursework in agribusiness is UC-Davis, followed by Wisconsin, Penn State, and Illinois to round out the top 50 schools in the USNWR ranking.

If your brother is interested in a minor in agribusiness, he could combine this with a major in econ or business, or he could just do another major in a college of agriculture and do an agribusiness minor.
