Question about MBA entry

Okay so I am currently a student at Saint Joe's U... Legal Studies major. Not sure if I want to do law school or go for my MBA...

I am an older student (26) and I have a few years of work experience... Selling phones and then working in an automotive shop... I guess 4-5 years total...

When I finish does this fulfill the requirement for work experience when it comes to getting in an MBA program?

Or do I have to re-enter the work force with my newly earned degree?

That probably depends on which school you want to attend. Some lower ranked schools do not require work experience at all, but many do. If you’re looking to attend a top 20 school that typically isn’t the type of work experience they are looking for. It doesn’t have to be related to your degree or business, but it should be more substantial than selling phones or working in an automotive shop.

Don’t take this the wrong way. I’m not discounting your experience in any way.

Your previous work experience will matter more to most employers. Make sure you have quality work experience,an extra degree (unlike law or medical degree which one must have in order to practise law or medicine) like MBA won’t help much.
