Question About MCATs

Piccolo...

knowing all the "requirement courses" material before entering undergrad can only help

What else could this possibly mean? You asked if knowing "all" the subjects helps? I responded by saying that it's not that simple, and provided reasons as to why that is the case.

You're correct that you didn't explicitly state any of the things you listed in #39. It's quite possible, that based on my experience in answering questions about the MCAT, I made the assumption that you were asking a different question than you were. Usually when people start asking about how well they have to know the subjects in order to do well on the MCAT, they hold the assumptions that I've pointed out.

If you want me to answer your question, you're going to have to give me more information about what it is. You accuse me of missing your point, but then in subsequent posts are bringing in issues (like science olympiad) from left field. Further breakdowns of my answers to simply say "that's not what I'm getting at" and then failing to provide any sort of clarification is also not helpful.

I just finished training to be an MCAT instructor for Kaplan, and Kaplan claims that 50% of the students taking the MCAT studied with Kaplan (not 50% of the 70% who take prep courses). This could just be Washington Post propaganda, but those are the numbers in our materials.

It wouldn't surprise me if 50% of MCAT takers have taken a Kaplan course. There really aren't many choices when it comes to MCAT prep courses: Kaplan, TPR, and, to a far lesser extent, Berkeley Review. I imagine Kaplan and Princeton Review would own most of the market share.

Agreed with NCG...it's not that far of a stretch.

BRM: I've been all over the place lately, but yes I realize I was being too ambiguous early on.

However, your location says "Outer Haven", and if that is a reference to MGS, I will overlook your recent posts.

It certainly is.
